The distance from the airport to the retreat is approx 1 hour 20 minutes

Our retreat is located on Kappil Beach, Varkala, Kerala 

How to reach Kappil Beach from Varkala?

Kappil is about 7 kms from Varkala beach. From Varkala, the best way to reach here is to hire an auto rickshaw. You can also hop on to one of the buses that service to Kappil. Kappil near Varkala should not be confused with Kappil beach at Kasaragod.

What other beaches are nearby?

Extend your exploration to nearby gems such as Vakala Beach, The Black Sand Beach, Kappil Beach, Perumkulam Beach Varkala, and Edava Beach—each offering its own unique charm

When is the best time to visit? 

Plan your retreat from September to March for the most favourable weather, with January being the driest month. Be mindful of the summer monsoon season from June to August.

What is the relationship between yoga and Ayurveda?

Yoga provides the spiritual and psychological basis for Ayurveda and its higher applications. For a truly holistic and spiritual approach to medicine and healing, we need both Yoga and Ayurveda, but with Ayurveda providing the medical foundation and Yoga the spiritual goal and practices.

What happens in Ayurvedic massage?

Ayurvedic Massage offers a range of benefits, including improved circulation, detoxification of the body, enhanced joint mobility, better sleep, stress reduction, and rejuvenation of body tissues. It also aims to harmonize the body, mind, and spirit, promoting overall wellness.

Is Ayurveda safe for everyone?

Ayurveda is a natural science. Consult the doctors at our retreat for further guidance on Ayurvedic Healing to build holistic health.

What happens in an Ayurvedic Consultation?

The Ayurvedic Doctor will examine your health imbalance through an Ayurvedic test or analysis and understand your past and present medical history. Based on the analysis, you will be recommended/prescribed a holistic Ayurvedic Lifestyle. This will include an ideal Ayurvedic Nutrition and Diet according to your dosha/body constitution type, some Ayurvedic supplements if needed, Yoga and Meditation practices to balance your mind and body. This Ayurvedic approach aims to build your immune system naturally and offer a sustainable healthy lifestyle.

Can I change my room option when I arrive?

Yes. If we have the availability, we will be more than happy to accommodate your needs.

Can I extend my stay?

Yes. If we have the availability, you can extend your stay and pay the different.

Can I eat meat during the retreat?

We only serve vegetarian food on the retreat however you can eat meat from restaurants but we do not recommend this during a detox programme. 

Do I have to be vegetarian to benefit from Ayurvedic treatment?

It is not necessary to be a vegetarian to benefit from Ayurvedic treatment or to practice an Ayurvedic lifestyle. Your Ayurvedic Doctor will recommend you to follow an ideal Ayurvedic Diet depending on your health goals

How many Ayurvedic Treatment sessions will I need?

There is no standard course of treatment or the number of sessions advised for all. It differs from person to person depending on various factors. It can only be recommended by our competent doctors after the first consultation.

I have a chronic disease, can Ayurveda help?

The holistic treatment in Ayurveda provides a significant relief to an individual with chronic disease. Our Ayurvedic Doctors are extremely competent to explain and treat chronic ailments and recommend different types of Ayurvedic Treatment according to your lifestyle and body constituent.

What is the cancellation policy?

Non refundable 50% deposit. If you need to cancel your Yoga and Ayurveda retreat we can reschedule to another date.

Any prior Yoga or Meditation experience required?

NO. Anyone and everyone can join our Yoga & Ayurveda retreat without any prior experience in Yoga. It is better if you do not know Yoga as you can experience the authentic way of Yoga and its effect on your mind and body. However, suppose you are already familiar with Yoga, in that case, it will be like wearing a crown by doing Yoga and Ayurveda, most authentically from the palace where these originated.

What do I wear on the retreat?

You can wear lose, comfortable yoga clothing. Don’t forget to pack beach/swim wear too.

Any mental or physical planning needed to experience the retreat?

NO. You need not plan anything except having an open mind and managing the required holidays. Our team will guide you during your stay.

How to get Visa to India?

The Indian Government has e visa facility. You can apply online and get the visa in 3 working days, depending on which part of the world you are applying from.
